Detroit's mixtape scene has always struggled to reach its full potential. But this years Detroit Hip-Hop Awards celebrated the birth of a new generation of Mixtape DJ's. Mr. Detroit City himself Young Mase was awarded the 2007 "Mixtape DJ Of The Year" trophy this summer. While only producing 3 mixtapes in 2005, Young Mase delivered over 40 different mixtapes in 2006. Mase has just taken one smaller step closer to becoming the next international Mixtape DJ.

Mr. Detroit City himself took home his biggest award to date, "Mixtape DJ Of The Year". He was accompanied on stage with close friends Quest M.C.O.D.Y & Kenny Shells of L.I.F.E Music Entertainment.
