| The Spec-ILLest |
| he Spec - Illest, was born Robert Ingram III
on July 7th, 1980 in Detroit, Michigan. He was
born into a single household that was run by
his mother Delores Ingram. Seeing his mother
raise four kids without any assistance instilled
strong values into the heart and soul of him at a
young age. These same values are what keeps
him flourishing for success every since he
realized that hip-hop was his calling at the age
of 12. Close your eyes and imagine a young
man in which every word he writes, every verse
he spits, every song he performs is solely
based upon his true love and respect for
Hip-Hop.
This love has him currently working on various
mixtapes, and his debut album which has no
scheduled release date. "Nobody knows who I
am yet, so why drop an album when you have no
buzz? Local buzz is cool for the average artist
but not me, I want international buzz!" His style
really can't be described, it is something you have
to hear. His metaphors are clever and he doesn't
drown a track with punchlines. He's more on the
lines of an Emcee than a Rapper. You might call his
style backpack. His projects are being backed by
his own label 31-3rd Productions, and a multitude of
other companies in the metro Detroit area.
They will assume the responsibility for all of the
promotional work for these projects. The
promotional work will include, but not be limited
to flyers, door hangers, magazine ads, concerts,
a high school tour, posters, distribution, &
radio play. With his work ethic, dedication, determination, and discipline as well as all of the
promotional tools being provided, this will provide
The Spec-Illest with tremendous exposure and
popularity throughout all of Michigan.
There is already a buzz in the streets of the metro
Detroit area as The Spec-Illest is continuously
showcasing his talent every chance he gets.
He opened up for Sho-Nuff Recording artist
"Tone Tone" in June of 2005 at the Cashbah in
Southfield, Michigan. He has performed at local
venues such as the Dynasty Lounge, Club Pure,
St. Andrews, Ebony Showcase Lounge, and
The Rocket (Jackson, MI). He currently hosts'
Hip-Hop Wednesdayz at TNT%u2018s Bar & Grill. He was
also featured in the debut issue of Unlock
Magazine. While performing in the Bless The Mic
Performance Battle, he won $1,000, a free photo
shoot, 2 tracks, and his single was played on
FM 98 WJLB. Some of his musical influences are
Nas, Jay-Z, Common, and Detroits' own J Dilla.
Throughout all of the obstacles that The
Spec-Illest has been through, he is determined to
show that he is a worth the investment. "I was in
denial for a long time believing that lyrical content
still got recognition, but it doesn't. Things like Beef,
Money, Drugs, and Club'n get embraced and those
that actually have something to say get rejected.
I know guys that hung up their mics because of
this, but not me. I'll see death before I hang it up.
Bosses don't quit, they retire." Even during regular
conversation you can see why everyone calls him
"The Spec-Illest."
