The Shelter, located in the subterranean level of St. Andrews, hosts up & coming acts. Remodeled in the early 90s, the Shelter has been the recipient of many local and state architectural awards for its modified use of urban space. Acts not quite popular enough to play upstairs are on the bill here. The Shelter is a great place to see fledgling rock bands give a genuine live show. The venue has hosted everything from hardcore punk and rock to rap and hip hop (as portrayed in 8 Mile). The intimate setting offers patrons an up close and personal experience. A small bar, in the center of the floor, provides some liquid refreshments while you take the opportunity to see a band before they hit the big time.
