I think a cartoon is far more marketable then an actual person.
Who really wants to see photographes of themselves? Nevermind print and post hundreds and thousands.... of photos of their own face.
that seems a bit weird to me.
I know it's not. But it kind of is.
That's why more cartoon versions of ourselves should be an easier and more effective method of promotion.
More importantly... fun.
So that's how I hope to present ourselves along with our new recordings.
Been working on a batch of songs this year.
Working with a CD title....
EVERY DAY HOUSEHOLD INGREDIENTS
SUGARSPELL's third recording, this is Jeffree Paul St.Johns best work to date.
Went into the PLYMOUTH ROCK STUDIO in October of 2007, to break the ice, get some tracks started. Laid down three songs... skeletons really. Then holidays took over and we didn't pick it up again until Jan of this year, 2007. Went back in and started a couple new songs.
These are studio recordings of songs Jeffree has been raising for years. Along with three new songs written along the way. One of which was co-written with fellow musician Matt Kleinhenn, during an important ten day session at Jeffrees home studio ("Geddes Back Door Sounds"), Well thats where a couple of these songs were born, and where others were explored early on. Getting most of the bass work done here and some of the guitars, we peppered the tracks with backing vocals and light perc.
During which there was a week of tstrange midwinter thunderstorms we had in late Jan, early Feb of '07 going on.
In early March 2007, back into the "Plymouth Rock Studio" to lay drums and vocals and organs and all the fun stuff. Being a drummer Jeffree chose to do some of the drum work himself on three of the tracks. Along with three other guest drummers and an amazing organ player, a female singer, two good lads engineering and helping with production in the control room....using EVERYDAY HOUSEHOLD INGREDIENTS,
SUGARSPELL has stirred up an intoxicating little batch of songs.
Anyway I'm currently gathering the artwork together.
Lots of photos and drawings and poetry in piles inside my mind at the moment.
So
I think a cartoon is far more marketable then an actual person.
Cheers
