Linda Lexy's Bio: You could call her a specialist, but she would have to also say shes more of a deeply appreciative fan of great soul/funk/blues and old school R&B recordings. Presenting them in their entirety to people every week is not only a joy, its her commitment. She was born along the Detroit River, and says whatever is in the water is in her blood. Growing up in the Detroit area with her ear pressed to the speakers filled with the sound of Motowns great radio dial, Linda Lexy found a sound that defined her life. Hosting her own radio show on that very same urban radio dial was a natural progression. Linda broadcast on four urban radio stations, all in the city of Detroit, and eventually ended up programming her highly popular radio show Linda Lexys Party Train, getting to interview many old skool greats like Barrett Strong, Ernie Isley, Larry Blackmon (Cameo), Alexander O'Neal, Kool and the Gang, Morris Day, Jam Master Jay and more. She feels great pride in her pioneering broadcast and programming contributions at WJZZ, WMXD, WGPR and 105.1 The Groove. When the last station changed its format Lexy decided she had to continue to keep the sounds of the city alive and become a full time club DJ across Detroit and its surrounding suburbs. Lexy would also find herself a hot commodity for emceeing and hosting some of the Motor Citys most attended musical events, including The Venus Ball, Pumpstock, AJ Lovefest, Real Big Hair Ball, Hurricane Katrina Benefit,Chopper Show and numerous CD release parties.Summer of '07 she will add the Eastpointe Rockin' Blues Cruise to her list as both emcee and DJ of the 2 day blues event. Lexy also served as host and co-host of the Channel 38 Star Movie Show on WADL TV. Add to this, a brief stint as Executive Director of the Motor City Music Foundation and host and co-creator of the successful unplugged Detroit music series " Linda Lexy's Basement Jamz". In 2006, Lexy was chosen to DJ for the NFL Tailgate party at Ford Field during Superbowl XIV for 10,000 of the NFL's closest friends. Lionel Richie was also part of this prestigious event, celebrating the rich and soulful sounds of the Motor City. Lexys commitment to the City of Detroit has kept her here for her entire broadcasting career. If you go to a gig, you will live and breathe the sounds of Detroit. Its who she is. Go check Lexy s show out...its guaranteed you'll leave with more soul than you came in with.
