I am a photographer in Metro Detroit.
You can find my full image collection at my website:
www.ChrisRabior.com.
I'm also on Myspace. and on Facebook. Feel free to look me up.
I have a selection of images available as prints. If you're in the market, seeking to add a touch of Detroit to your living room, man lounge, basement, office, or business, please consider ordering. Chris Rabior Photography : Prints
I've been doing photography since 2006. For a short time, I worked with PictureThisDetroit (now PictureThisCity.com). After time away from shooting to pursue educational goals, I got back into the game. I started shooting for DetroitCity in the end of 2007. My last official gallery went up in September 2009, which is when I decided the site wasn't going in a direction I cared to follow. That same month I hired on at Detroit Metromix, doing essentially the same things, but with a much broader spectrum of events. I've been regularly published on the site since.
I also run Michigan Combat Photography, the mixed martial arts side of my photography endeavors. I shoot almost exclusively for the Xtreme Cagefighting Championship (www.XCCLive.com).

| I had the chance to do some reflecting. I'm giving photography a go as a full time gig, wish me luck! Part of this means I'm doing work with different clients, and taking on work entirely different from what I'm accustomed to doing.
I recently hired on at Metromix doing basically the same as what I did here at DetroitCity. So far, I absolutely love it. They've sent me out on some killer assignments. I got to do a costume shoot with a dozen models at Halloween USA, a feature on Halloween decorations, a Singles Mingle with Channel 955, Hareball 2009 at Club 22, the Betsey Johnson Fashion Show at MBarGo, Hairball at The Bank, and this weekend I'm assigned to the Bone Bash at the Royal Oak Music Theatre and the Detroit Erotica Ball.
I also got the opportunity to do a shoot for Greek Yearbook, doing portraiture work for two sororities at Central Michigan University.
I've increased my rates to reflect the worth of my photography, and have begun
amassing the right equipment for a portable studio. Hopefully it's going to work out, because I love what I do.
And of course, feel free to check out my website and purchase prints. |

| I'm still here! |
| Jul 14, 2009 |
| I've been getting questions about why I'm not out as often, and in part, it's because I haven't been in the area much lately. I went and got married June 3 in Grand Cayman, and things have been pretty insane pretty much since Memorial Weekend. Things are starting to settle down, so I should be out a bit more frequently. |

| On The Rocks threw a benefit at the Crofoot and had a killer lineup for a three set, all acoustic show. A sample of performance shots is in the gallery from the night, and the full collection is being uploaded to my website: www.chrisrabior.com/concerts/ |

| Shooting at the Fillmore tonight |
| Oct 23, 2008 |
| Just got the word from Metro Recording Studios.. I'll be shooting downtown tonight at the Fillmore. I'll be covering the band what won 89X's latest competition at TNTs: Lies Unknown. Might make my way around to get some shots of the city with my new fisheye lens while I'm at it. |

| New Website! |
| Jul 15, 2008 |
| I had a friend call me up to inform me my website was gone. My hosting company apparently closed down without notifying anyone.
As such, I had an excuse to create a brand new one. It's updated in my contact info. Same address, new site. I'm migrating my entire photo collection over there for anyone interested in checking it out. |

| Indy 500 |
| May 19, 2008 |
| As much as I'd love to make it out to the DEMF, I'm going to be enjoying some time with rednecks, mullets, gearheads, and race exhaust this weekend down in Indianapolis. If any of you Detroiters are going to be there, I'm gonna be at the Coke Lot with a group of about 50 others. Should be a riot. |

| I'm With The Band @ TNTs |
| Mar 5, 2008 |
| March 6, I'll be at my usual Thursday spot in Clinton Township at TNT's, doing my paparazzi thing with the bands and the spectators. Come on out, it'll be a blast. |

My passion for photography is a result of my love for music and competition. What started as a dinky 3MP Olympus that I took with me to local shows and sporting events has turned into a major commitment and to some extent a self employment opportunity.
I know I'm not likely to treat photography as my only income, particularly with my interest in law enforcement, but it's a pleasantly enjoyable hobby and I hope to keep on shooting till the day I die. |

| My Philosophy |
| I try to present myself professionally no matter where I am or what I'm doing. I give it my all when I'm working. I know how I got where I am, and I know where I want to go next. It wasn't by playing dirty, being disrespectful, or treating other people as a means to an end. I've learned a lot from those who I've been able to work alongside as colleagues and competition: Mike Spleet, Shane Glenn, Matt Dolinar, Mike Raffin, Scott Spellman, Jason Paige. Professional work doesn't mean anything if people don't care to work with you. I worked my way up like many hopefuls like me have had to do. I know that while you can be given power, you have to earn respect. I appreciated help I received, and I hope to be able to return the favor. I know that a good camera doesn't make you a good photographer, no matter how expensive the lens or body might be, any more than owning a Fender Stratocaster could put you on the same level as Hendrix.I love what I do, and I love the opportunities to meet people with the same type of passion for whatever it is that they do. I don't care to get involved in drama, but have no trouble saying what's on my mind. I don't have an ego, and I don't play well with those who do. I know that work in any form has value, and lose respect for people who fail to appreciate that. I'm always open to new experiences, and I can't wait to see where things are going to take me. |
