Bricktown Station (a.k.a. The 5th Floor): Formed on or about August of 2001from the ashes local bands past and still growing strong! Reared on Rock, R&B, Funk, and Jazz each member of the band contributes their own distinct talent and flavor into a mix whose sum is undeniably original Detroit rock and roll. Amidst the music's various textures, moods, attitudes and messages (tailored to suit every ear) exists a sincerely genuine love for Detroit and the denizens thereof. What you'll witness is the evolution of bombastic basement born power jams that graduated to the school of raw Garage Rock and ascended (body, mind, and spirit) into the entirely new affluence of intelligent yet gritty music being created throughout the lofts of downtown Detroit. Call it "Loft Rock", call it a gregarious communion of musical fellowship, call it what ever you please just be at the station and don't miss this train!

| Christina |
| Christina Morgan was born and raised in central New Jersey where she began singing in her school choir, performing in musicals, and taking theater classes. In 1993 she won an "Outstanding Vocalist" award at the Virginia Beach Festivals of Music, and a year later moved to Michigan. There she continued to pursue her creative outlets, which lead her to take part in Community Theater and participate in local independent films. Eventually she began singing with many regional bands and joined up as lead singer in Detroit's own "Bricktown Station". In 2005 she crossed paths with blues talent Paul Miles, who brought her on board with "The John Reece Project".
Currently, Christina continues singing and song writing with both bands and enjoys jamming with Detroit area musicians. More recently she performed, both theatrically and musically, in the Jeffery Thomas McHale film "Bedtime Stories" where she was featured in the role of Kandice and wrote the song FANTA "C" for the soundtrack. She will soon be seen in another film titled "Sleep Tight, Tiger" portraying the role of band groupie Inara.
Christina Morgan has always considered her family to be her biggest musical influence and her husband and two pets to be her greatest support. Without that combination and a pinch of destiny, she could still be managing a McDonald's and singing karaoke on Sunday nights.
How to make a CHRISTINA
Ingredients:
5 parts competitiveness
5 parts craziness
5 parts ego
Method:
Stir together in a glass tumbler with a salted rim. Add lovability to taste! Do not overindulge! |

| I was borne and raised in Detroit Michigan where I began my musical interest in grade school. My favorite drummer is Stuart Copeland of the Police. Watching him play really got my foot tapping and wanting to push my drumming experience to new levels. I bought my first drum set for a 12 pack of Budweiser and $75.00 which was a multi colored Magnum kit. I didn't know anything about playing drums. I watched music videos and watched what the drummers were doing from the videos to see what to hit to get what sounds. I taught myself how to play the drums by practicing over and over in the basement of my Mother's house (THANK YOU :-)). I got better and joined a band with some friends called No Request. A high school band that never saw the stage but I learned a lot from playing with other musicians and how a band works. I then bought my Ludwig Kit (Roxanne) from someone who didn't like the color for $200.00. I haven't looked back or wanted to buy any another set since I bought Roxanne. I LOVE my Orange Vista lights!!!!!!! My first taste of playing on stage was with a band called Polecat. I played with that band for may years and moved on to a band called Urethane where I played for three years and toured throughout Michigan. I have found my home with Bricktown Station where I enjoy playing with a group of musicians that really know how to have a good time on stage and likes to create rocken music |

| Phil Bolden (a.k.a. Buffalo Phil):
A native of Buffalo, NY but I have called Detroit and the metro-area home for most of my life with the last 13 years living downtown. As the offspring of musicians and music lovers I have always been musically inclined and involved in school choirs and theater, but I never picked up an instrument until 1989 when I bought my first bass guitar at a pawn shop in Alamogordo, NM. I was in the Army at the time and had won some money playing bingo (with little else to do in the desert) I began teaching myself out of books and making up little ditties that still show up in my musical contributions to the band even today. Throughout the last 3 years in the service I jammed and practiced with my bands that never played out, and somehow recorded my own music using a Casio keyboard, a bass, and my compact home stereo. Since my home coming in `92 I have been in 4 other bands:
Broken Program- a Gold Dollar inspired space/noise jam band (Gary Wind, Shane McMahon, Curtis Paul, & Quincy).
Another band with Brent Bacher though the band name escapes me- we recorded in Toronto but never played live.
Frame Three Thirteen - a Bill Blank (Bill Boyer) band wherein I was replaced before their only gig to date at the Old Miami.
Pole Cat- a 10 year plus Detroit based band which I auditioned for 3 times before we I was finally a solid member of the band in 2000. I think the final version of Pole Cat gigged twice in my loft in Greek Town in 2001.
Fifth Floor- was a spin-off band of Pole Cat (minus the lead singer) until I moved from the 5th floor of the building to the 2nd floor and we became Bricktown Station in 2002/2003.
Since then I have been very happily a member of BTS and I still occasionally compose my own music on keyboard and bass for my own edification! |
