William (Big Will) Elijah hails from Detroit, Mi. His deep musical roots have taken him from the Detroit public school system to Montreux Switzerland representing the Detroit Jazz community playing with the Northwestern High Jazz Band under the watchful eye of Detroit Jazz Vet Ernie Rodgers.
Will became a professional musician at age 15 and is now one of Motown's premier entertainers. Playing almost two decades of performances, Will has backed Motown legends like Martha Reeves, Mary Wilson, Eddie Kendrick and David Ruffin.
Big Will along with the Sun Messengers - the band he credits with giving him 19 years of musical training - has touched every form of music from Jazz standards to the blazing Funk sounds of the 70's and 80's. This coalition spawns Big Will's creative energy as an up and coming songwriter, producer and record executive.

Will took his "on the job" experience with the Sun Messengers to a NEW level creating what he calls "Detroit Urban Soul"(tm). His music appeals from the slickest Funk crowd all the way to die hard Hip-Hop fans, allowing him to bridge the gap in Detroit's urban music scene. Upon its release, "Crowd Pleeza" went International with sales in Japan the first week of its release thru www.cdbaby.com/bigw.
Big Will's resume takes him from working all the major venues in the D, to working on television shows such as The Temptations Tribute on Detroit's WDIV Channel 4. He, along with the Sun Messengers, re-recorded the classic "Poppa Was A Rolling Stone" in the historic Motown Studio A on West Grand Blvd. Big Will "brings the heat" with a rap he wrote for that piece. Because it's a historical landmark and being the last group to record there, "It was an honor for me to be a part of history," says Big Will (who wasn't even born when a lot of Motowns songs were recorded).
The Sun Boys horns were also part of featured tracks for the highly watch syndicated TV show Zena the Warrior Princess starring Lucy Lawless. Will and the Sun Boyz are very proud of playing their 10th season as the Official band for the 2005 Eastern Conference Champs, the Detroit Pistons. Nov. 4, 2002, Big Will debuted songs from "Crowd Pleeza" on WJR radio's "Mitch Albom Show" (Author of Tuesdays With Morey) for a nation wide audience.
Big Will was befriended and scouted by film and music industry veteran choreographer Toni (Hey Mickey) Basil. (of Bette Midler's Kiss My Brass Tour 2004) "I saw him in a club one night, dancing, rapping, singing and playing trumpet. He stopped me cold! He's a dynamite talent and a wonderful human being. 'Crowd Pleeza' is great, wonderful & diverse!" says Toni Basil.
