MARK WHITSETT ( PERCUSSIONIST & SINGER ) Mark is a percussionist and singer with 10 years experience in the music industry. He was one of the lead vocalists for the well known gospel group BLESSED that did concerts all over the Country on large scale tours with with THE WINANS, RANCE ALLEN, AND VANESSA BELL ARMSTRONG. Shortly after, Mark decided to end his singing career and focus on his career as a percussionist. Mark learned the art from his father, who was a great congo player, and also worked with the great DON ALIAS in NEW YORK to study beats & rhythms. He considered it a very humbling and spiritual experience. MARK has worked with ED WULFRUM (MOTOWN RECORDS ENGINEER), TERRY HERALD (GOH MUSIC - America's Most Wanted theme) and recording labels such as JIVE, ZOMBA, and VERITY to name a few. He has performed along side various artist such as AaLIYAH, THE WINANS, Detroit Jazz musician RANDY SCOTT, AL TURNER, DONNIE McCLURKIN, TIM BOWMAN, YOLANDA ADAMS, COMMISSIONED, LEXI, DEITRICH HADDON, and the list goes on. Mark has performed at various venues such as the Montreaux Jazz Fest, The African Art Fest, The Gospel Fest, and Pontiac Arts Beats & Eats. and was also a band member for the sellout debut of the musical "MY BROTHER MARVIN" at the Detroit MUSIC HALL. As of 2007 Mark is playing for RANDY SCOTT, BAMM DAVIS, LIN ROUNTREE, TIM BOWMAN, DUANE PARHAM, and the great JONATHAN DUBOSE
