Biography
HafLife came to be 2 fuse old styles in a new way, recreate the primal, and most importantly, bring fun back into live performances. Fed up with boring bands who ignore their audiences, we strive for maximum audience participation level allowed for by law. We don't just play music, we entertain.
Haflife formed in 2000 from three remaining members of Detroit band Mental Landscape. After releasing their first full length cd in 2004 as Haflife, the band won the Best Industrial Band category of the Detroit Music Awards. With five nominations total, the band is looking forward to expanding their audience with the addition this year of a new drummer, "V".
Haflife has been featured in local television commercials for Noir Leather, in the independent film "Hatred of a Minute" produced by Bruce Campbell, and has also been heavily featured in the Det-Chi extreme sports DVDs released over the past several years. They are looking forward to expanding their audience with east and west coasts tours in 2008.

| Handi J |
| Handi J is one of the originators of Haflife's "sound". In addition to playing guitar, he also programs all the electronic tracks and engineers, mixes and masters all of the band's recordings. |

| mbolism |
| Mbolism, one of the few five stiring female bassists in Detroit, has been playing bass for almost 20 years, and has been working with the Mad Doc for 13 of those. Described as Detroit's version of Anthony Kiedis and Flea, the dynamic couple anchor the vibe of Haflife and are the heart and soul that keep the music going. Mbolism is an award winning bassist, having won the Detroit Music award for best bassist in 1994. |

| MD2020 |
| background. Known as "the punk rock doc", his peers in the medical community are often unappreciative of that combination, but the local music scene loves it! Not many bands can brag they have their own personal physician on lead vocals. He brings an interesting, intellictual flavor to the lyrics. The son of motorcycle legend Chet Hall, who was renowned for his custom built Harley Davisons, MD2020 is part physician, part biker, part Mad Doctor, and a master showman on stage. He is the epitome of what makes Haflife so unique. |
|
| V |
| V is a veteran of Detroit bands Skinhorse and Passion Nouveau, as well as being a guest drummer in many other Motor City bands. He adds a new, solid foundation to the already infectious grooves created by guitarist Handi J and Haflife's fearless leader, MD2020.
